Is a human animal
That faces the national question
As a quantum broth of confusion
& resentment & history & less than

& molecular detritus
— of the colonial variety —
& name dropping[s], próceres*
with 19th Century hangovers;

Human animals kissed by Anthropocene’s lips,
Beings kicked by Manifest Destiny’s boots —

Human animals blursed with blooms of glossolalia,
Beings cursed with equal parts of Lilliput & Gargantua.

*eminent people.
